FLYDONNA news report
The FAI sponsored the event and was represented by Susanne Scoedel who, unable to intervene, sent a recording of her greeting and by the Executive Director Alvaro de Orleans Borbon, who suggested the creation of "a permanent work group to promote participation of the women in air sports". After the event a large report was published on the Federation's Internet site by Faustine Carrera, FAI Communication Manager, also present at the event, in which was also noted how much the Airport Adele and Giorgio Orsi was the perfect setting to honor women in air sports, being named after a pioneer like Adele Orsi.
The
AeCI also wanted to honor the FLYDONNA meeting with
a page on its website. The Special Commissioner of the Aero Club of Italy, Prof. Pierluigi Matera, spoke at the round table
"Women with wings: living your passion" congratulating with the President of the Aero Club Adele Orsi Margherita Acquaderni for the excellent organization, also declaring to be very receptive to female pilots who wanted to propose initiatives, because
"women's ideas for women are better than men's ideas for women". Even the General Manager, Gen. Giuseppe d'Accolti, honored the event with his presence.
FLYDONNA 2018 has had a wide media coverage, so much to involve even national TV reports.
TG5 (Channel 5 News) dealt with the event, with
a report broadcasted at 8.00 pm on Sunday 16th. The Channel 5 news also interviewed the two "engine" women of the event Margot Acquaderni and Donatella Ricci, who once again underlined the importance of the event for women with the passion for flight.
Rete 55 has dedicated
a TV report in the News, interviewing the president of the Aero Club Margot Acquaderni and the creator of FLYDONNA Donatella Ricci, in addition to one of the many women pilots by profession, the lieutenant of the Italian Finance Police Eleonora Macaluso.
FLYDONNA 2018 was also present in other local media:
VareseNews, a well-known information magazine in the province of Varese, published
an article presenting the event on September 13th, as did the Varese newspaper
La Prealpina, with
an article in the edition of September 14th.
