Lieutenant Eleonora Macaluso
Daughter of a flight instructor of the 70th Stormo of Latina, she experimented the flight for the first time in 2009; enchanted by the lived experience, she decided to try the competition to become a military pilot. In 2010 she graduated from classical school and, after passing the required tests, she enrolled in 2011 in the Guardia di Finanza, as a helicopter pilot, to start the five years of training at the Academy of Bergamo.
From August 22 to November 18, 2011 she attended the flight aptitude preliminary course at the 72nd Stormo of Frosinone, which is divided into a theoretical phase of ground lessons and a sight flight, at the end of which she made her first solo flight .
Back to Bergamo, she continued her studies in economics and financial security, to obtain her three-year degree in 2015. As a thesis topic, she tackled the issue of CRM in high-risk work environments.
She attended the post-training years at the II Battalion of Allievi of Castelporziano, where she supported the last university exams for the attainment of her teaching degree.
From October 2016 to September 2017 she moved again to the headquarters of the 72nd Stormo, where she attended the flying course for the helicopter military pilot’s license, which she will obtain on September 8th.
In October 2017, she was assigned to the first employment department, the Air Section of Venice, where she currently holds the position of Head Operational Core, as responsible for the operational and training flight activity of the department.
